Baltimore Ravens vs Chicago Bears NFL Preview: Team news, betting, tickets, live stream, Fantasy Football and more

The Chicago Bears (4-2) head to M&T Bank Stadium this Sunday for a clash with the struggling Baltimore Ravens (1-5).

It's already been a rollercoaster of a season for Chicago. The Bears opened the year with back-to-back divisional setbacks, a narrow defeat to the Minnesota Vikings followed by a lopsided loss to the Detroit Lions. Since then, however, they've found their groove, stringing together three straight victories over the Dallas Cowboys, Las Vegas Raiders, and Washington Commanders, with the last two decided by just a single point. In their win over Washington, Chicago's offense rolled up 381 total yards and averaged 6.5 yards per play, though their 3-of-10 conversion rate on third downs left room for improvement.

On the other hand, it's been a season to forget so far for Baltimore. The Ravens' only bright spot came in a Week 2 win over the Cleveland Browns, but they’ve otherwise dropped games to the Bills, Lions, Chiefs, and most recently the Texans. That Houston loss was particularly rough, Baltimore managed just 207 total yards, 12 first downs, and threw three interceptions, while the defense surrendered 417 yards and 27 first downs.

Baltimore Ravens team news

If Baltimore's defense manages to clog the running lanes, Caleb Williams could find himself with time to dissect a Ravens front that, surprisingly, generates the least pressure in the NFL. But let's be real, this matchup swings heavily depending on Jackson's health. When he’s active, the entire game script shifts.

Speaking of which, the Ravens' injury update didn't lack intrigue. The headline, of course, is Lamar Jackson. Listed with a hamstring issue, the star quarterback practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday — his status for Sunday still hanging in the balance.

Elsewhere, ex-Bear Roquan Smith (hamstring) was a full participant, eager for a reunion with his old squad. Marlon Humphrey sat out with an illness, while Kyle Hamilton (groin) was limited. On the bright side, Chidobe Awuzie (hamstring), Zay Flowers (shoulder), Patrick Ricard (calf), Ronnie Staley (ankle), and Devontez Walker (oblique) all went full speed in practice.

In last week's outing, Cooper Rush stepped in but managed just 11-of-19 for 72 yards and a pick — hardly inspiring stuff. Derrick Henry did the heavy lifting with 24 carries for 122 yards, while Zay Flowers led the air attack with six receptions for 46 yards. Defensively, Baltimore showed some bite with two sacks and four tackles for loss, but without Jackson orchestrating the offense, they simply looked out of rhythm.

Chicago Bears team news

Five key names popped up as did not practice for the Chicago Bears on Wednesday — Roschon Johnson (back), Cole Kmet (back), DJ Moore (hip), Tyrique Stevenson (shoulder), and D'Andre Swift (groin). Not exactly the kind of injury list a head coach wants staring back at him midweek.

Statistically, the Bears have been living life on the edge averaging 25.3 points per game, with 217.2 passing yards and 129.3 rushing yards per outing, while conceding 25.8 points on the other end. Caleb Williams has racked up 1,351 yards, nine touchdowns, and three interceptions, while D’Andre Swift has churned out 419 yards and three scores on 89 carries — a steady, if not spectacular, output.

Regardless of whether Lamar Jackson suits up, the key for Chicago lies in its defense’s knack for forcing turnovers. The Bears have created15 takeaways during their recent four-game win streak, and that opportunistic style has fueled their resurgence. Just as crucial has been their offensive line — opening lanes for D’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai, who've developed into a bruising one-two punch. The duo combined for 205 rushing yards (5.4 per carry) last weekend against New Orleans, following up 127 yards (5.6 per carry) the week before versus Washington.

Ravens vs Bears Fantasy Football

Fresh off the bye, Lamar Jackson was still nowhere to be seen at practice to open the week, not exactly the start Ravens fans were hoping for. Still, oddsmakers seem confident the former MVP will be back under center soon, judging by the current spread.

His status will need close monitoring as the week unfolds, but optimism remains that Jackson can suit up. If not, and Cooper Rush gets the nod again, Baltimore’s offensive ceiling takes a noticeable hit. Should Jackson return, though, he instantly reclaims his spot near the top of the QB1 hierarchy, no questions asked.

After a quiet stretch, Derrick Henry (projected 15.5 fantasy points in Week 8) looks primed for a resurgence. Assuming Jackson is back, expect the Ravens to pound the rock early and often against a Bears defense that’s been soft up front. A favorable game script and a post-bye spark could be exactly what unlocks Henry's fantasy firepower.

Meanwhile, Zay Flowers (projected 9.5 fantasy points) turned in a full practice on Wednesday despite dealing with a shoulder issue. The rookie wideout should be good to go and could see a notable uptick in production if Jackson gets the green light.

On the other side, Caleb Williams endured a rough outing last week, hitting on just 15 of 26 passes (57.7%) for 172 yards with no touchdowns and a pick. The rookie’s still an intriguing QB2 flier, but his inconsistency makes him a high-risk, high-reward play.

D’Andre Swift (projected 11.4 fantasy points) continues to run hot, but analysts are cautioning fantasy managers to consider selling high before the regression bug bites. For Week 8, he’s a dependable RB2 option with some upside, just don't get too comfortable.

Lastly, Rome Odunze (projected 9.8 fantasy points) has been held to only two catches in back-to-back games as Chicago leans heavily on the ground game. Despite the recent dip, his season line of 24 receptions, 359 yards, and five touchdowns through six contests keeps him in solid WR2 territory heading into a tough road test against Baltimore.

Ravens vs Bears Game Predictions

The timing of this matchup is far from ideal for either team. The Chicago Bears are taking on a Baltimore squad just as MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson and All-Pro linebacker Roquan Smith return to the lineup, giving the Ravens a major boost. On the flip side, Baltimore faces a Bears team riding the momentum of Ben Johnson's resurgent ground game, which has averaged 183.5 rushing yards per contest and 5.5 yards per carry over the last two weeks.

Turnovers have haunted Baltimore's offense all season—a league-worst 16.1% turnover rate—but Jackson hasn't been the culprit. With playoff implications on the line and a week to recharge during the bye, the Ravens' offense is poised to regain its rhythm. Expect Jackson and company to steer Baltimore to a crucial victory in this clash.
