Explained: Why Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire & Antony have been left out of Man Utd squad for Rangers pre-season friendly

Earlier on Saturday the club named their 26-man squad that travelled to Edinburgh to face Scottish giants Rangers in their second pre-season friendly match on Saturday. In their first friendly on Monday, the Red Devils went down 1-0 against Rosenborg.

Manager Erik ten Hag did not include big names like Marcus Rashford, Antony, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof in the squad. Rashford and Maguire miss the clash due to niggles as the English centre-back has still not fully recovered from his injury, though he did join training this week.

While several senior players have not been named in the travelling squad, new signing Leny Yoro has made it to Ten Hag's team and will make his first appearance donning a United shirt. Jadon Sancho has also travelled with a squad after missing out on the Rosenborg friendly clash.

After facing Rangers on Saturday, the Premier League giants are all set to travel to the United States where they are scheduled to face teams like Real Madrid, Arsenal and Liverpool.
