  • Yoro joins Man Utd from Lille
  • Ten Hag names squad for Rangers
  • Big calls on Yoro, Rashford & Sancho
  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Mere days after Yoro swapped Lille for United in a £52 million ($68m) deal, the 18-year-old has been named in their squad to face Rangers on Saturday afternoon. Jadon Sancho, who was jettisoned from the Red Devils first-team group early last season after a falling out with manager Erik ten Hag, is also involved, but Marcus Rashford misses out with a 'niggle'.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

This match acts as a chance for Ten Hag to see French teenager Yoro in action, albeit in a pre-season friendly. Incidentally, the fact that Sancho - who the club have been trying to sell and spent the second half of last term on loan at former team Borussia Dortmund - has been included in the squad is an interesting development and raises further questions about his Old Trafford future.

  • MAN UTD SQUAD VS RANGERS

Yoro is in the squad alongside new team-mates Amad Diallo and Andre Onana, but Antony, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, and Tyrell Malacia will not feature due to either minor injuries or fitness.

Here is the squad in full:

GOALKEEPERS: Dermot Mee, Andre Onana, Radek Vitek

DEFENDERS: Sonny Aljofree, Harry Amass, Rhys Bennett, Jonny Evans, Will Fish, Louis Jackson, Sam Murray, Habeeb Ogunneye, Maximillian Oyedele, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Leny Yoro

MIDFIELDERS: Casemiro, Toby Collyer, Jack Fletcher, Hannibal, Samuel Mather, Mason Mount, James Scanlon

FORWARDS: Amad Diallo, Ethan Ennis, Joe Hugill, Jadon Sancho, Ethan Wheatley

    WHAT NEXT?

After this 4pm clash against the Scottish side, Ten Hag's men take on Premier League rivals Arsenal on July 27, before locking horns with Real Betis four days later. United lost their opening pre-season game 1-0 to Rosenborg on July 15.
