WHAT HAPPENED?
Shaw scored one of the goals of the season as City routed Liverpool in the WSL on Saturday. Collecting the ball around 20 yards from goal, she beat her marker and took aim, firing a rocket into the top corner to give City a 3-0 lead. Lauren Hemp and Jess Park had scored before her, and in the second half, Shaw added a second of her own with a close-range header.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
City have made a real statement as they aim to continue their WSL title push, with Shaw scoring her 18th and 19th goals of the season. They are currently top and three points clear of second-placed Chelsea, with a superior goal difference after thumping the Reds. If they win their remaining four games - and maintain that goal-difference advantage - they will be champions.
