    WHAT HAPPENED?

Chelsea have been simply unstoppable in the last few years under Emma Hayes as they have swept several domestic honours including the WSL on four successive editions. They are a cohesive unit on the pitch and they make sure that their cohesion and togetherness are on full display even when the squad is celebrating in the dressing room or on the dance floor.

  • WHAT KIRBY SAID

Speaking on the We Are Chelsea podcast, Kirby revealed: "They are a bit crazy (celebrations) to be fair. Our celebrations in the changing room are quite fun. Obviously, Country Roads is always on when we win. But I remember that we were on a team night out after we'd won a trophy and Country Roads came on when we were out. And honestly, everyone else had to like to remove themselves from the dance floor because Chelsea women were just boom in the middle. Jumping up and down and literally it was one of those moments when you are looking around and you're like 'Oh, my God! What a team environment. What a culture. Probably someone went and asked the DJ, It's normally me, but it was not me. So I don't know where the song came from. It was just one of those moments when I was just looking around and everyone was so happy and I think that memory will stay with me forever and obviously all the ones in the changing room as well. But that one I think because it was that song, the whole team was out and I probably pushed about two randoms off. No, we're here, this is our moment."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Kirby recently grabbed headlines after an impressive cameo against West Ham in what was her 200th appearance for the club. After joining Chelsea, on a British record fee of that time between £40,000 and £60,000, Kirby has been one of the mainstays under Hayes for several years. She is also the top-scorer of the club with 115 goals scored across competitions.

    WHAT NEXT?

Kirby will be back in action against Ajax on Wednesday in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal. However, this might be her final season in the West London club as she is yet to agree to an extension despite her contract expiring at the end of the season.
