The new Galactico! Kylian Mbappe already signing Real Madrid shirts as World Cup winner prepares to complete transfer from Paris Saint-Germain

The France international has confirmed that he will be severing ties with Paris Saint-Germain when his contract with the Ligue 1 champions comes to a close. He will be walking away from Parc des Princes as the club’s all-time leading goalscorer.

The expectation is that Santiago Bernabeu will be the next port of call for Mbappe, with Real having made him a top target for some time now. The 25-year-old is ready to embrace a new challenge, telling Forbes: “I want to be happy. I will leave my country for the first time. It’s going to be an amazing experience and I can’t wait to be in my new club. I want to win trophies … When you speak about football, [it’s about] winning trophies, being with new team-mates.”

There has been no official announcement in Madrid as yet, but Mbappe has been getting acquainted with a new fan base while on duty with his country – with one lucky supporter getting the World Cup winner to sign his shirt.

Mbappe is said to be agreeing a pay cut in order to join the Blancos, with money not a motivating factor for a man that has already shunned the riches on offer in Saudi Arabia in order to remain in the hunt for the biggest prizes on offer in European football.
