    WHAT HAPPENED?

    The 22-year-old winger is spending the 2023-24 campaign in Spain on loan at La Liga side Getafe. He has been catching the eye for them, with 10 goals and six assists – which have seen him record a new personal best on the goal contributions front in league competition – allowing him to attract interest from afar.

    There has been talk of Barca and Atletico Madrid looking to keep Greenwood in Spanish football, while Serie A giants Juve are being heavily linked with an approach in the next window. They are said to believe that a cut-price deal could be done for a player that was expected to be on the move this summer after making an initial enquiry.

    The Times is, however, reporting that United are prepared to absorb Greenwood back into their squad if no suitable offers are received. They are said to have the one-cap England international valued at between £30 million ($38m) and £40m ($50m) – while also having the option of extending his contract through to 2026.
