The comment in question was made on social media after United’s crushing 5-0 victory over Everton in the WSL on Sunday. Earps played the full 90 minutes in that contest, with another clean sheet secured by the England international goalkeeper.

WHAT HAPPENED?

While her performances on the field continue to generate plenty of praise, her behaviour off it has attracted surprising criticism. Earps has found herself tagged in a comment on Instagram that read: “Thank you Ella Toone &amp; Nikita Parris for stopping to meet my daughter today. It’s a shame Mary Earps is far too busy and important to stop for her fans these days!!”
