The former England international could have been forgiven for throwing in the towel on his professional career after seeing injury issues rule him out of competitive action for two years. He became a free agent in that time after reaching the end of his contract at Everton.

Dele has, however, refused to give up and always believed that he could turn a corner. He has worked his way back to fitness and accepted a surprising offer from Italy towards the end of 2024.

He is now working with ex-Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas at Serie A side Como. Dele’s debut ended in red card disappointment, but he has a smile on his face once more - on and off the pitch.

Kimberly has joined Dele in Italy, as she embraces life as a WAG, and helped her partner to relax away from the stresses of his day job when heading out on the idyllic waters of Lake Como.

Dele is working on an 18-month contract that includes an extension option if he can prove his worth. At 28 years of age, there is still plenty of football left in him if untimely returns to the treatment table can be avoided.
