Liverpool's injury list: When will Roberto Firmino, Thiago Alcantara & Stefan Bajcetic return to ease Jurgen Klopp's concerns?

As we head into the crucial final weeks of the Premier League season, Liverpool's injury crisis looks to have eased significantly.

A campaign heavily disrupted by fitness issues could still have a positive conclusion, with a top-four finish - and with it Champions League qualification - still just about on the agenda at Anfield.

With Luis Diaz the latest player to return, making his comeback recently after six months out with a knee problem, Klopp suddenly has plenty of options to choose from, even if he still doesn't quite have a full squad.

Here’s the latest on Liverpool's missing men…

  • Stefan Bajcetic Liverpool 2022-23Getty Images

    How is Stefan Bajcetic?

The young Spaniard has been a rare bright spark in a gloomy season, so it was perhaps inevitable that he would succumb to a long-term injury.

Bajcetic suffered what Klopp described as "a stress reaction" near his adductor following the defeat to Bournemouth last month, and will not feature for the remainder of the campaign.

    Expected return date: Pre-season

What's the latest on Roberto Firmino?

Firmino is entering the final weeks of his Liverpool career, with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.

And the Brazilian will be desperate to return to action having been sidelined for the past four games with a muscle injury.

Klopp expects the 31-year-old back in training ahead of next week's trip to Leicester.

Expected return date: Hopefully back for Leicester on May 15.

  • Thiago Alcantara Liverpool 2022-23Getty

    How about Thiago Alcantara?

Another player to have had a season disrupted by injury is Thiago Alcantara, who is now set to miss the remainder of the season with a persistent hip issue.

The Spaniard has undergone surgery, but is expected to be ready to return to action in time for pre-season training in July.

    Expected return date: Pre-season.

  • Jordan Henderson Liverpool Palace 2022-23Getty Images

    Is Jordan Henderson injured?

Liverpool's captain picked up an injury, unspecified, in Wednesday's 1-0 win over Fulham, and underwent a scan to determine the full extent.

It is likely that Henderson will at least miss the game with Brentford as a result.

    Expected return date: Unclear.

  • Naby Keita Liverpool 2022-23Getty Images

Will we see Naby Keita again?

Good question. You'd have to say that it looks doubtful at the moment. Keita picked up a muscle issue on international duty with Guinea last month, and has not trained fully since.

The 28-year-old's contract is up at the end of the campaign, and with Liverpool suddenly awash with midfield options, it feels possible that we have seen the last of Keita in a red shirt.

    Expected return date: Unclear

  • Oxlade-Chamberlain(C)Getty Images

    What about Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain?

Another player who may have played his last game for the club. Oxlade-Chamberlain was not in the squad for the win at Leeds and was not pictured in training at Kirkby this week.

The club has yet to issue any kind of update on the former England man's fitness, but like Keita it looks like his final days at Anfield are to have a familiar feel, with fitness troubles overshadowing his talent.

    Expected return date: Unclear

  • Calvin Ramsay Liverpool 2022-23Getty

    Any news on Calvin Ramsay?

Another youngster sidelined is the 19-year-old full-back Ramsay, whose first-team exposure has been limited to just 95 minutes since his transfer from Aberdeen last summer.

The Scotland U21 international suffered a knee injury in training in February, and will not return to action until pre-season. A frustrating end to a frustrating debut season, for the teenager.

    Expected return date: Pre-season
