Lionesses star Jess Carter announces engagement to long-term partner Ann-Katrin Berger one month after ex-Chelsea team-mate's transfer to NWSL side NJ/NY Gotham FC

The couple took to social media to announce their news just one month after Berger left Chelsea to join reigning National Women's Soccer League side NJ/NY Gotham FC. The German goalkeeper spent six seasons at Stamford Bridge before heading to the U.S. in April.

Taking to Instagram, Lionesses star Carter shared a photograph with her partner Berger along with a caption that read: "7 years down forever to go."

The German too shared a photograph with the English star, but from a different angle and wrote in the caption, "My best trophy so far."

Germany international Berger appeared in just four matches across all competitions for the Blues in the 2023-24 campaign before moving out of the club. However, Carter played in 21 Women's Super League matches for Chelsea and was an integral part of the squad that lifted the league title for a record seventh time.

The players will be in action for their respective national teams in the coming week as England face France and Germany take on Poland in Euro 2025 qualifying matches.
