'We were lucky it was only three' - Jude Bellingham makes revealing confession after Real Madrid's Champions League humbling at Arsenal

Declan Rice starred with two stunning free kicks in the second half, and makeshift No.9 Mikel Merino scored a third as the Gunners thrashed Madrid 3-0 in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final fixture at Emirates Stadium.

After the shocking result in North London, England and Los Blancos star Jude Bellingham reacted to his team's humbling as he admitted that the Spanish giants were completely outplayed by Mikel Arteta's team. He also claimed that the result could have been even worse.

Speaking to reporters, Bellingham said: "We’re lucky to get away with only three. We were nowhere near it. That's the fact and Arsenal were really good. I know two of their goals were free-kicks but they could have had way more. There is a second leg and that's what we're holding on to."

Arteta's men next face Brentford in the Premier League this Saturday before they jet off to Madrid for the second leg on April 16.
