Jude Bellingham’s New Year resolutions! Real Madrid star sets targets for 2024 after emulating Cristiano Ronaldo with early efforts in Spain

The England international midfielder has been a revelation for the Blancos on the back of his €103 million (£89m/$114m) transfer from Borussia Dortmund. He has hit 17 goals through 21 appearances – bettering the efforts of Cristiano Ronaldo at times – and is the proud holder of the prestigious Kopa Trophy and Golden Boy award.

Life could not be going much better for Bellingham, but he has told the ‘Universe Real Madrid: United Kingdom’ documentary of his hopes for the New Year: “For 2024 I ask for many titles, goals and help the team win the game. And enjoy being a Real Madrid player. Working at Real Madrid requires a certain level of quality and mentality, and to have this responsibility feels like a huge privilege to me. Every day I come I try to work hard to be the best. The goal when you come to Real Madrid is to win everything.”

Bellingham has never been one to shy away from a challenge, with Zinedine Zidane’s former No.5 shirt taken on at Santiago Bernabeu. He added on embracing pressure: “I feel very proud of my number, of working with this coaching staff, and of this badge. I think it can all be summed up with the word ‘privilege’. Not many players have the opportunity to play for such a big club.”

Real are currently enjoying a winter break, but will be back in action on January 3 when playing host to Mallorca. Bellingham will be hoping to figure prominently in that fixture as he continues to nurse a shoulder problem that may require surgery at some stage.
