Honeymoon on hold! Sadio Mane won't be jetting off with new teenage wife Aisha as 18-year-old bride's parents want her to return to school

A report by the Daily Mail revealed that the Al-Nassr star and his new wife will have to put their marriage celebrations on hold for the time being. Mane, currently away with Senegal at the African Cup of Nations (AFCON), had been hoping to have his honeymoon after the tournament, but he may have to wait. According to Mane's best friend, Moussa Ndiaye, the parents of Aisha, who is still in school, wish for her to complete her final exams before the newly-wedded couple go away.

Ndiaye told the MailOnline:"Sadio was hoping to have a honeymoon at some point either after the final, if Senegal get there or before, if they are eliminated.

"But Aisha's family want her to remain focused on her education. She has very important exams comping up and they don't want this marriage getting in the way.

"Even though she is now married to Sadio, who is the most famous man in Senegal, she is still a schoolgirl and needs to complete her studies."

Mane is currently in Cote d'Ivoire for AFCON and will be hoping his Senegal side can defend the title they won two-years-ago. Mane is the side's talisman and will be looking to add yet another trophy to his vast collection. The former Liverpool man will face Guinea, Cameroon and Gambia in the group stage and will want to avoid a shock elimination.

Mane's Senegal begin their AFCON defence with a game against Gambia on January 15. Mane will be dreaming of once again inspiring his nation to glory.
