  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The Liverpool duo are in the final year of their contracts and are yet to put pen to paper on new deals. Both players have been linked with a move away from Anfield with Salah attracting strong interest from the Saudi Pro League. Al-Ittihad tried to sign the Egyptian last summer by submitting a bumper offer, however, the Reds, at that time, had refused to part ways with their star attacker.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Amid speculation over Van Dijk and Salah's futures, former colleague Fabinho has opened up about their possible moves to the Saudi Pro League. The Brazilian midfielder, along with several other ex-Reds stars like Jordan Henderson, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane moved to the Middle Eastern country in the summer of 2023.

  • WHAT FABINHO SAID

Speaking to reporters in Saudi Arabia, the 31-year-old said: "I haven’t talked to them lately and to be honest I didn’t see any news about them coming to the Saudi League or leaving Liverpool. I know that some players like Mo, Virgil and Trent are at the end of their contract, and I think Liverpool are desperate to get them a new contract, but it’s not my problem any more!"
