  • WHAT HAPPENED?

According to Sky Germany, Dortmund's Marketing Director Carsten Cramer was seen showing Ten Hag around the business area at Signal Iduna Park on the evening of their 3-2 loss to Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga last week. This comes at a time when Dortmund have slipped to eighth in league under manager Sahin, who replaced Edin Terzic last summer.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The report adds, however, that despite Ten Hag maintaining a good relationship with Dortmund's chief advisor, Matthias Sammer, there is 'no connection' between the ex-Ajax boss' visits to the stadium and the club's poor recent results. Dortmund's support in manager Sahin is 'not wavering' and the 36-year-old 'continues to enjoy the full trust of the club's bosses'.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Ten Hag, who was sacked at United in October, is still on good terms with Sammer as he played a big role in the Dutchman taking up a managerial role at Bayern Munich's reserve team from 2013-15. That is partly why he has repeatedly visited Dortmund's stadium.

    WHAT NEXT?

The report adds Sahin's position at the club will be under pressure if Dortmund's chances of finishing in the top four become a 'distant' possibility. Currently, they are five points behind fourth-placed RB Leipzig. However, one win in six games in all competitions makes for grim reading.
