'It's eight days' - Ruben Amorim offers fresh update on Marcus Rashford's future as unwanted star struggles to find Man Utd exit ahead of close of January window
Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has offered a fresh update on Marcus Rashford's future at the club ahead of the close of the January window.
Rashford has been cast out of the Manchester United first-team squad by Amorim since taking over from Erik ten Hag as manager at Old Trafford. As such, the England international has made it clear that he wants to leave the club for a 'new challenge' and the Red Devils are said to be open to the 27-year-old's departure.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Rashford has been linked to a number of clubs in regards to a January transfer with AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona touted as potential destinations. However, the former two have struggling to find common ground with the England international, while Barcelona's tightly-packed wage bill and lack of outbound transfers have left Rashford in limbo as the transfer deadline nears. Amorim has now provided a fresh update on the forward's future at Manchester United.

WHAT AMORIM SAID
When pressed about Rashford's transfer situation, Amorim told a press conference: "I don’t know. I really don’t know."
The Portuguese coach was then asked if Rashford could be reintegrated into the squad if he stays, Amorim countered: "Guys, it’s eight days. We’ll see what happens at the end of the transfer window and we’ll talk about that at that moment."
WHAT NEXT FOR RASHFORD?
Rashford has not played for Manchester United since December and it remains to be seen if he will feature for the club again. Time is rapidly running out in the transfer window, giving Rashford precious little time to secure a move away from Old Trafford.
