  • WHAT RONALDO SAID

He told Whoop: "I can't believe it's so good. This means I'll play for another ten years. When you're young, you think you'll live forever, that you'll always be strong, that you're unbreakable. At 25 it's not the same as when you're thirty, especially in football. I still feel good, I prioritize recovery and sleep much more than before."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Ronaldo is still going strong despite hitting 40 - an age where most players have long since been retired. The ex-Manchester United man has set his sights on reaching 1,000 goals before he hangs up his boots, with the veteran closing in on 940 at present. But perhaps he may stay around for even longer off the back of this test.

    WHAT NEXT?

Ronaldo's future is up in the air as his contract with Al-Nassr expires this summer, and he is yet to sign a new deal. The former Real Madrid ace has been linked with another move but before then, he has his final two Saudi Pro League games of the season to negotiate.
