Agent Bernardo Silva! Man City star reveals plan to convince £105m-rated Joao Neves to join Premier League champions over bitter rivals Man Utd

The Portuguese star has claimed that if he gets a chance, he will try and convince £105m-rated Benfica midfielder Neves to pick Manchester City over their arch-rivals United.

The 19-year-old has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, although the Portuguese side are reluctant to part ways with their star player in the upcoming window. The player has a release clause of €120m (£105m/$131m) in his contract, which reportedly became active in the summer.

Neves graduated from the Eagles' youth academy and made his senior debut for the club in 2022. In the ongoing season, he has appeared in 18 matches, recording one goal and one assist. He received his first national team call-up in October this year and made his international debut against Bosnia and Herzegovina in an international friendly.

Erik ten Hag is on the lookout for a quality midfield option after missing several key United players due to injury, including Casemiro, who has been ruled out with a thigh injury until January.

Speaking to reporters, Bernardo said: "If I can, I'll make a move for Joao Neves to go to Man City instead of Man United, of course."

For now, the teenager remains committed to Benfica and will be next seen in action for the Portuguese giants as they next take on Famalicao in a Liga Portugal clash on Saturday. Manchester United, meanwhile, will be back on Premier League duty against Everton a day later.
