Getty Images SportWHAT HAPPENED?
The two presidents caught up at the final of the Supercopa de Espana in Jeddah, where Laporta thanked his Los Blancos counterpart for their support in the Olmo case. Sport 45 reported that unlike rivals Atletico Madrid and Sevilla, who opposed Olmo being re-registered, Madrid took a neutral stand on the issue as they consider their arch-rivals as a strategic ally.

On Tuesday, Laporta announced that the club will be able to successfully re-register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, thereby killing an "apocalyptic narrative". He also slammed La Liga and the RFEF and accused them of trying to "destabilise" the club. Both Olmo and Victor were part of the matchday squad in the Spanish Super Cup final. Olmo came on as a substitute and clocked 35 minutes on the pitch, while Victor witnessed his team claiming a thumping 5-2 win from the bench.
