Astonishing Leny Yoro stat highlights extent of Man Utd's issues under Ruben Amorim after disappointing Fulham draw

Sleeping giants at Old Trafford continue to find it infuriatingly difficult to wake from their slumber. Erik ten Hag paid the price for failing in that task when being relieved of his managerial duties in October 2024. The reins were passed a couple of weeks later to Portuguese tactician Ruben Amorim, who had been impressing in his homeland with Sporting. Just 16 wins have been picked up from 44 games since then.

French defender Yoro has figured in 23 Premier League fixtures for United since completing a transfer to England from Lille in the summer of 2024. His record across those outings proves how difficult the Red Devils have been finding it to generate positive results.

Yoro’s latest appearance came in a 1-1 draw at Fulham, with the 19-year-old missing out on his first Premier League goal as a close-range header at Craven Cottage ultimately went down as a Rodrigo Muniz own goal.

Stalemate in west London means that Yoro is yet to start a victory for the Red Devils over a current top-flight club. His only successes to date when figuring from the off came in wins over Southampton and Ipswich - who were both relegated at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

United will be hoping that statistical quirk is snapped when playing host to newly-promoted Burnley on Saturday. A testing return to action after the first international break of the 2025-26 season will see Amorim’s side take in a derby date with arch-rivals City on September 14 and a home date with Chelsea.
