Hands off! Aston Villa ready 'historic contract' for Boubacar Kamara in bid to ward off interest from Europe’s top clubs as midfielder sets condition to stay

Aston Villa have opened contract talks with Kamara and hope to extend his current deal that runs until 2027, according to Foot Mercato. Unai Emery's side are planning an "historic contract" for the midfielder after he attracted interest from "several very big clubs" ahead of the summer transfer window.

Aston Villa are in the midst of an exciting season and have an FA Cup semi-final and a Champions League quarter-final against PSG to come. Qualifying for Europe's top club competition appears vital to Villa's hopes of keeping hold of Kamara, as the 25-year-old has set that as one of his conditions if he is to continue at Villa Park.

Kamara was signed for Aston Villa in 2022 by then manager Steven Gerrard on a free transfer from Marseille.

Aston Villa are braced for a crucial run of fixtures in the coming weeks. Emery's side play Brighton, Nottingham Forest and Southampton in the Premier League, face PSG in the Champions League and will take on Crystal Palace for a place in the FA Cup final.
