This was Arne Slot's side's third defeat on the trot across all competitions as the English champions have started to crumble after starting the 2025-26 campaign on a dream note.

Harry Kane provided an update on his condition after suffering an injury scare during Bayern Munich's 3-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday. Kane, who scripted yet more Bayern history with a goal, had to be subbed off towards the end of the game after he picked up an ankle injury. The knock certainly left the English fans sweating as he is scheduled to link up with the national team.

Mikel Arteta provided a worrying update on Martin Odegaard's injury as he also revealed that Declan Rice has suffered a knock. Arsenal were dealt a huge blow on Saturday as Odegaard suffered another injury. The Gunners' captain had to be taken off in the 29th minute in their Premier League encounter against West Ham at the Emirates Stadium. Rice, too, was subbed off in the 80th minute.

Jude Bellingham had asked to be left out of the England squad ahead of their upcoming international matches. Thomas Tuchel announced his 24-member Three Lions squad for the World Cup qualifiers on Friday but left out star midfielder Bellingham, who had come back early from his shoulder injury and featured for Real Madrid in their last couple of games.

Trai Hume went down inside the United box following a challenge from Benjamin Sesko and the referee pointed to the spot. However, after VAR checked the incident, the on-field official reversed his decision.

Former Italy defender Fabio Cannavaro is all set to take up a shock new international job ahead of the 2026 World Cup. The Ballon d'Or winning ex-Juventus star was without a job since Dinamo Zagreb parted ways with him in April this year. However, Cannavaro is now set to return to football management to lead Uzbekistan in their maiden appearance at the 2026 World Cup.

Zinedine Zidane's son Luca has earned his first national team call-up as he has been included in Algeria's squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers. Luca, born in France, has represented the French national team at youth level, but never broke into the senior team. However, the former Real Madrid goalkeeper has finally got an opportunity to make his international debut.

Manchester United reportedly considered appointing former coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer before they hired Ruben Amorim last November. The Portuguese coach was brought in from Sporting CP as United parted ways with Erik ten Hag after a poor start to the 2024-25 campaign. Solskjaer managed the Red Devils for three years before being dismissed in November 2021.

The Premier League are set to vote on scrapping the divisive Profit and Sustainability Rules and bringing in a new system that will be more aligned with the UEFA financial regulations. The PSR was introduced by the Premier League ahead of the 2015/16 season in a bid to prevent clubs from overspending on transfers, however, time and again, the rules have faced criticism.

Liverpool wonderkid Giovanni Leoni sent out a positive message after undergoing Anterior Cruciate Ligament surgery. Leoni suffered knee ligament damage when making his competitive debut for the club in a Carabao Cup clash with Southampton last week and will not remain out of action for almost a year. The teenage defender only moved to Anfield over the summer from Parma.

Benjamin Sesko has been sent a warning about life at Manchester United by Slovenia national team head coach Matjaz Kek, as the striker is off to a slow start at his new club. Since completing a big-money transfer from RB Leipzig to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window, the Slovenia international has managed to score just one goal in his opening seven games.
