Tyler Adams becomes a father! USMNT captain and Bournemouth star welcomes baby boy

The 24-year-old US international's partner Sarah Schmidt gave birth to a baby boy, on Wednesday. Earlier in November, the player had revealed on social media that he and his partner will be having their first child together.

Last spring, the USMNT star had suffered an injury while playing for Leeds United which ended his 2022/23 campaign. In the summer, after Leeds got relegated, Adams made a move to Bournemouth. In the ongoing season, he has made only one appearance for the Cherries which came in a 2-0 win over Stoke City in the Carabao Cup in September. During the match, he re-aggravated the injury, forcing another spell on the sidelines. After that, he underwent surgery and has remained in rehab since.

In November 2022, at the age of just 23, Adams was named the captain of the USMNT ahead of the World Cup in Qatar. He thus became the youngest player to lead a team at the flagship competition and was also the youngest person to captain the US national team since 1950.

It is still not clear when the player will return to action from his long-standing injury. His club will be next seen in action on Thursday against Swansea in an FA Cup fourth-round clash.
