Marcus Rashford to Tottenham?! Ange Postecoglou issues strong response to transfer suggestion after Man Utd forward signals intent to leave Old Trafford

United will begin finding a suitor for Rashford after the 27-year-old announced his intention to leave Old Trafford this week. "I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps," Rashford said in an interview with Henry Winter.

While Ruben Amorim is keen for Rashford to stay at the club, it seems like a long way back for the academy graduate now.

His £325,000-a-week wages may prove to be a significant obstacle, but the Red Devils could make it easier for any club to take him on with a reduced transfer fee. Could that club be Tottenham, who were linked with Rashford before Postecoglou's arrival last year? It's unlikely, with the Australian playing down the prospect of signing the forward when he spoke to the media on Wednesday.

"If I looked at everyone we were linked to, I'd have no time for anything else," Postecoglou said. "I've got other people to do that part of the process. For us, we've been pretty disciplined in terms of what we are trying to do here and we'll continue to be so."

When pushed on whether that meant no to Rashford, the 59-year-old added: "That's not on my radar. You can ask me about Marcus but you can ask me about every Premier League footballer and I'm going to say the same thing.

"[I have] no interest [in what's he said], don't care. He's a Man Utd player, a very good player. They've got plenty of good players. But I manage my players and I guess other managers will manage their own players. In terms of Marcus' situation, I have got no real desire to examine it any further."

Rashford would "probably suit Spurs", according to former Premier League striker Troy Deeney, but he'll have to find another team willing to take him on based on Postecoglou's comments. A move to Saudi Arabia is reportedly an option.
