Lionel Messi is on top! Inter Miami star's shirt is MLS's top-seller ahead of co-star Luis Suarez

The statistics come from the MLS Store, and the Inter Miami duo are joined by Cincinnati's Luciano Acosta, Columbus Crew's Cucho Hernandez and LA Galaxy's Riqui Puig in the top five. They are also joined by three Miami stars in the form of Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and Benjamin Cremaschi in the top 25.

Miami have had an eventful time in the transfer market over the last 18 months and it has shown on their results and also their stock prices rocketing through the roof. They currently sit atop the the Eastern Conference by two points having played two games more than second-placed FC Cincinnati. Suarez and Messi are both set to leave the club for a month-and-a-half due to their international commitments in the Copa America, and they may struggle to continue the same levels with two of their main stars missing.

It hasn't just been Inter Miami who have seen progress thanks to the introduction of the 'Barcelona boys' but MLS as a whole has also benefitted a lot, thanks to the number of eyeballs that have peaked in to have a look at the league Messi plays in and overall, ahead of the World Cup being held in the United States in 2026, it may even boost local viewership of the sport.

The league is currently on a short international break but will resume on June 16 and will not break for either the Copa America or Euro 2024 as it does not follow the European football schedule.
