Dele Alli relives the glory days! Ex-Tottenham midfielder posts Instagram video honouring his 2017 brace against Real Madrid on famous Champions League breakout

The attacking midfielder, who now plays for Como in Serie A, scored twice against the Champions League's most successful club at Wembley in the 2017-18 group stage, another marker in what was a stunning period of form for the club. He uploaded the highlights to his Instagram story to acknowledge one of the finest performances of his career.

Dele enjoyed a memorable few seasons at Spurs, scoring 67 goals in 269 appearances between 2015-22. His promising career fizzled out, however, when a combination of poor form and personal issues meant he was unable to sustain the same standards.

In 2023, Dele opened up to Gary Neville on The Overlap podcast, revealing he had been sexually abused aged six and that he had admitted himself to rehab because of a sleeping pill addiction. He has since signed for Como, for whom he was sent off on debut last month.

Dele has revealed he is still determined to get back to the top of the game and has even set himself the target of reaching England's 2026 World Cup squad. For now, he will be aiming to put together a consistent run of form in Italy's top flight.
