‘Williamsville want to make amends’- Junior Diallo states mission against Enyimba

Williamsville AC defender Junior Diallo says his side is eyeing three points when they battle Enyimba at home in their Caf Confederation Cup Group C encounter on Sunday in Abidjan.

Les Guêpes bowed to a 1-0 defeat after Ibrahim Mustapha’s lone strike for the Nigerian giants at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium a week ago, but hoping to avenge their initial loss this time at the Stade Robert Champroux.

Despite facing the table-topping People’s Elephants, the Ivorian side’s captain has reflected on their first-leg defeat in Nigeria but insists they have nothing to lose as debutants against the two-time African champions.

“Our loss in Port Harcourt was so painful to us because we outplayed Enyimba and a draw would have been better,” Diallo told Goal.

“We learned a lot from the defeat and ready to make amends in the return leg match here in Abidjan because we have known Enyimba better now.

“All we want is the three points and move back to the top of the table and we are well prepared and motivated for this match. Enyimba is a great team in Africa and we respect them so much.

“I believe we are not under pressure because this is our first year outing in club competitions in Africa. I think Enyimba are rather under pressure because they know that a win will take us back to the top of the group.”
