RB Leipzig's summer has been defined by the departure of Yan Diomande, whose €125 million transfer to Real Madrid was confirmed on Thursday and stands as the club's most expensive sale in their history. The 19-year-old Ivorian winger delivered 13 goals and 10 assists across 36 Bundesliga appearances last season, earning Bundesliga Rookie of the Year honours, before interest from Liverpool, PSG and Bayern Munich ultimately gave way to Real's winning bid. With potential bonuses, the fee could rise to €140 million, placing Diomande joint-third in Bundesliga transfer history alongside Florian Wirtz.

The sale sets a significant challenge for new head coach Martin Demichelis, who replaced Ole Werner this summer. Leipzig may not stop there either. According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, AS Roma are prepared to meet Leipzig's reported €60 million asking price for Norwegian winger Antonio Nusa, meaning Demichelis could begin the Bundesliga season without two of his most dangerous wide attackers.

The club is moving to address those gaps. Fisnik Asllani from Hoffenheim is close to a €30 million switch, per Bild, while Nadiem Amiri is reported to have reached a basic agreement with Leipzig over a move from Mainz. Rocco Reitz, signed from Mönchengladbach in the spring, is working through a fitness programme after a prolonged illness.
