Revealed: How much Bayern Munich are willing to pay for Luis Diaz as German giants battle Barcelona for Liverpool star

Bayern apparently have certain price expectations that will not be exceeded in a transfer for Diaz. The Liverpool forward, who is also on Barcelona's radar following a rejection from Nico Williams, is considered to be the top candidate for the left wing.

According to a report from Sport Bild, the threshold for signing Diaz would be €60 million (£51m/$70m) plus possible bonuses. Bayern would also not shy away from the fact that the 28-year-old may no longer have any resale value. Rather, the priority is to strengthen the squad immediately and recoup the transfer fee with prize money from good performances in competitions such as the Champions League or Club World Cup. However, due to the tragic death of Diogo Jota, Bayern have not yet made an official offer to Liverpool nor have they held any talks. Diaz's agent, meanwhile, has been informed that Die Roten are "determined" to sign the Colombian.

There have been conflicting reports recently about Diaz's possible departure. While the Reds are said to be insisting that he stays, the player has reportedly given both Bayern and Barca his commitment to a transfer. However, the player himself has said he is in talks with Liverpool, hinting that he wants to be sold this summer.

Diaz still has a contract with the Reds until 2027 and, according to consistent media reports in recent weeks, is definitely one of the players likely to be let go after the Premier League champions spent more than £200m (€235m/$275m) on new signings such as Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez this summer.

The Bundesliga transfer window opened just over a week ago and remains open until September 1. It goes without saying that Bayern sporting director Max Eberl has time on his side, even though the pressure is slowly mounting. The Bavarians, though, need not stress upon Diaz's potential arrival. They can consider themselves the favourites to clinch the Colombian international's signature, with Barca apparently in no position to afford his transfer fees.
