Real Madrid to give up on Alphonso Davies? European champions ready to admit defeat with Bayern Munich extension now highly likely

A move to Santiago Bernabeu for flying full-back Davies has been speculated on for some time. Those rumours have intensified since the 24-year-old entered the final 12 months of his deal at the Allianz Arena – with free agency beckoning.

It was suggested at one stage that Davies was ready to take on a new challenge with the Spanish giants, but Bayern will not be allowing him to move on without a fight. Another offer of fresh terms in Germany has been tabled to the Canada international.

According to AS, Real have accepted that Davies will fall out of reach. An agreement with Bayern is said to be close, allowing the buccaneering left-back to extend his six-year association with the Bundesliga heavyweights.

With reinforcements on the left of their back four proving hard to come by, Real continue to be heavily linked with a move to bring in Trent Alexander-Arnold on the right. The England international is another of those set to become a free agent in 2025, with his contract running down at Liverpool.
