PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma reveals final decision on his future amid Man Utd & Bayern Munich transfer links

PSG’s firm stance on salary structures has reportedly hindered negotiations for an extension, with the 25-year-old currently commanding a wage of €10 million per year. With only a year left on his current deal, the Parisians are understood to be open to letting him go for a reduced fee of €40 million (£34m/$46m) rather than risk losing him for nothing in the summer of 2026.

Speaking after Italy’s 2-0 victory over Moldova in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers on Monday, Donnarumma offered a clear statement of intent. Asked about his plans with just 12 months remaining on his PSG contract, the goalkeeper made his priorities unmistakably clear.

"My priority is to stay at PSG. I believe there won’t be any issues in the negotiations," he told Sky Italia.

United, in search of a consistent presence between the posts, have kept tabs on Donnarumma. Bayern, too, are understood to be exploring options for a long-term replacement for Manuel Neuer. However, the 'keeper’s response has significantly cooled the heat around the ongoing rumours and has reassured PSG fans of his loyalty, at least for the near future.

Donnarumma’s agent, Enzo Raiola, has added further clarity to the situation by shutting down suggestions of a possible return to Italy.

"For now, there are no open doors in Italy, and I don’t think it’s the right moment for a return," he said, addressing rumours linking his client with Inter. "He is happy at PSG. There are just some contractual details to be finalised, but I rule out any short-term move back to Italy for Donnarumma."

With the dust seemingly settled around Donnarumma’s future, PSG are now shifting their focus to the upcoming Club World Cup, as they are set to begin their campaign on June 15 against Spanish side Atletico Madrid. Having played a crucial role in PSG's Champions League success, he is expected to be a cornerstone of the team's ambitions again in the United States.
