When asked by BILDif Olise has the Bayern gene, Ribery provided his opinions, saying: "I can't say yet, because he hasn't even been at the club for a year. Olise is still young; this is his first time at a big club. I'll be honest: I didn't know Olise before he came to Bayern. So far, he's doing very well, including with the national team. I've discovered him now, and I enjoy watching him. But Olise needs to keep up his performances if he wants to become one of the best players in the world: not just for one year, but for three, four, five! Here, too, it's about mentality."
Later, Ribery was asked if Olise needed to learn German in order to succeed at Allianz Arena, to which the iconic winger replied: "Yes, absolutely. Olise needs to learn German to understand the club. It's also a sign of respect. I can only advise him: He should try, say things, even if the words are wrong. Otherwise, he's too often withdrawn and not open. I met him once at Sabener Street: I sense that he wants to learn and succeed."
