The race for the 2023–24 La Liga Golden Boot award is over. Players looked to earn the crown of the league’s top goal-scorer and we have a winner.

The Spanish top-flight has always been littered with elite goal-getters, and although Barcelona's star striker Robert Lewandowski ran away with the Pichichi for the 2022-23 campaign with 23 goals to his name, there is plenty of competition for that prize this term despite the departure of Karim Benzema for the Saudi Pro League and Al-Ittihad.

There are several contenders for the leading marksman prize, with the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Vinicius Junior, and, surprisingly Real Madrid's midfield sensation, Jude Bellingham, among those who made a claim.

Bellingham was atop the goalscoring table for a long time, but that changed and his lead disappeared after he missed a few matches due to another injury problem.

GOAL brings you a fully updated rundown of the leading scorers in La Liga across the 2023-24 season.

Ukrainian international striker Artem Dovbyk, who netted 32 goals in 48 matches in all competitions last season for Dnipro-1, became the most expensive player in Girona’s history over the summer. And he has proved to be a very shrewd signing for Champions League-bound Girona, as he finished the season as La Liga top scorer with 24 goals after his main challenger fell one goal short of his mark.

Former Crystal Palace flop Alexander Sorloth may have struggled for goals in England and Germany with RB Leipzig, but he has taken off in Spanish football. He scored a respectable 24 goals in 90 appearances during a two-year loan spell at Real Sociedad, which convinced Villarreal to sign him back in July.

Since joining the Yellow Submarine, Sorloth has proven to be Villarreal's chief source of goals and came within a whisker of finishing the season as the top scorer in La Liga.

    3Jude Bellingham | Real Madrid | 19 goals

Real Madrid's blockbuster summer signing, Jude Bellingham, was unstoppable in front of goal and was scoring at a truly remarkable rate. The midfield sensation's precision of late darts into the box and composure when finishing off his chances have left everyone amazed.

He top-scored for Real Madrid and finished towards the top of the standings in the race for the trophy. Among the highlights were home and away goals against Barcelona to help Carlo Ancelotti's team do the double over their Clasico rivals en route to the title.

  • Robert Lewandowski Barcelona Champions League 2023-24@Getty

    4Robert Lewandowski | Barcelona | 19 goals

Robert Lewandowski has been one of the best strikers in Europe for the best part of a decade. The 35-year-old Polish goal machine was imperious for Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich and made a fast start to his Barcelona career.

However, towards the backend of 2022-23season, he went cold in front of goal. In the 2023-24 season, despite receiving criticism from some sections of the Barca fanbase for his lack of impact in games, the Pole was amongst the goals and finished as Barcelona's top-scorer.

    5Ante Budimir | Osasuna | 17 goals

Croatian veteran Ante Budimir was the hero for Osasuna in the season finale last season, as his goals helped the Navarra side clinch a spot in the UEFA Europa Conference League for the 2023–24 season. He ended the 2022–23 season with eight goals in 31 matches, and scored over doubled that tally this season, with 17 goals to his name.

  • 13Jørgen Strand Larsen | Celta Vigo | 13 goals

Larsen tallied only four goals and four assists across 32 appearances during his debut campaign in La Liga as he spent most of his debut season for Celta as Iago Aspas' strike partner up front, though January loan signing Haris Seferovic rotated in and out of his place during the second half of the campaign.
