Jude Bellingham's reaction from the stands to Kylian Mbappe's first La Liga goal says it all as Real Madrid star finally gets off the mark

The World Cup winner enjoyed a dream start to his spell as another ‘Galactico’ at Santiago Bernabeu, with a debut goal recorded in a UEFA Super Cup win over Atalanta. There were suggestions in the aftermath of that performance that he could hit 50 efforts for the Blancos this season.

Praise quickly turned to uncomfortable questions for Mbappe as he failed to find the target through his opening three appearances for Real in the Spanish top-flight – with blanks drawn against Mallorca, Valladolid and Las Palmas.

Mbappe is now up and running, with a match-winning brace recorded in Madrid’s 2-0 victory over Real Betis. Bellingham was not on the field to help out his new French colleague, with the England international nursing an injury. He was, however, in the stands and rejoiced at seeing Mbappe hitting the net.

Real have come under scrutiny in the past for compiling a collection of superstars that fail to operate as a team. Carlo Ancelotti would appear to have a happy camp in 2024-25, with Bellingham’s reaction to Mbappe finding the target making a very public point to any doubters.
