'It's his game' - Harry Kane's reunion with Tottenham confirmed as Bayern Munich deliver huge update on England star after Euro 2024 fitness concerns

The striker was absent from the Bayern team that faced Spurs in a pre-season friendly last week while both teams were on tour in South Korea. Kane had been given a break to recover from England's Euro 2024 campaign, but he resumes training this week.

It was suggested that the England captain would be out for the rematch between his current team and his former side, which is set to take place in London on August 10, after concerns over his fitness were raised throughout Euro 2024. However, Bayern director Max Eberl has confirmed that he is fit to play.

"Harry is coming back in the middle of next week. The injuries were not that serious; the disappointment over the lost Euro final was greater," Eberl said. "Of course, he will fly to London with us because in some way it's his game too. And then we will prepare him step by step, play DFB-Pokal and have him ready for Bundesliga."

After the weekend's match, Bayern will have one more friendly before they play their first competitive match of the 2024-25 campaign - against SSV Ulm in the DFB-Pokal. They will then get their Bundesliga campaign underway with a match against Wolfsburg on August 25.
