Manchester United and England legend Beckham, who spent time in America during his playing days with the LA Galaxy, is now a co-owner at Inter Miami. He saw them post a record-breaking points tally in 2024 as the Supporters’ Shield headed to Florida for the first time.

With the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez on their books, the Herons were considered by many to be favourites for ultimate MLS Cup glory. Their quest to capture that crown is over after suffering play-off heartache in a best-of-three series with Atlanta.

Editing a famous exchange that he enjoyed with wife Victoria during the Netflix ‘Beckham’ documentary, the Georgia-based outfit have Posh Spice saying "we’re the best in MLS", to which Becks responds with "be honest" before Victoria finally concedes that Atlanta United have beaten the Herons "multiple times".

Inter Miami faced Atlanta United on five occasions in their 2024 campaign, suffering three defeats and collecting just one victory. Messi will be back for more in 2025, with the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner still having 12 months left to run on his contract.
