Why Victor Osimhen's permanent return to Galatasaray is held up as Turkish giants find themselves locked in transfer 'cold war' with Napoli

After spending last season on loan at Galatasaray, Osimhen has reportedly given the green light to make a permanent move there. Despite meeting the Napoli man's €75 million (£63m/$82m) release clause, the Italian side appear to be holding up the deal.

ASclaims that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis continues to hinder Galatasaray's progress by making demands that are not in Osimhen's contract. The report adds that on top of specific pay instalments, he is demanding a '20 per cent stake in Osimhen's subsequent signing and a guarantee that the player would not be sold to Italian clubs for three years'. The publication adds that this is part of a 'cold war' between the two teams. Incidentally, the Turkish side may take this to FIFA if they don't get their way.

Osimhen, who is reportedly not giving up on returning to Galatasaray, will earn a net salary of €15m (£13m) a year in addition to another €10m (£8.6m) from sponsorship income. The offer is a three-year deal with the option of a fourth for the 26-year-old.

The Nigeria international, who was linked with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United but it seems he will not join any of them, will just have to wait and hope that Napoli and Galatasaray can broker a deal soon.
