Revealed: When USMNT stars Christian Pulisic & Yunus Musah will discover manager sack call at AC Milan – with Stefano Pioli sending ‘patient’ message

The United States internationals were snapped up by Pioli during the summer transfer window of 2023. Pulisic has enjoyed a productive debut campaign in Italy, posting a personal-best return of 13 goals, while Musah has come back into favour of late after spending plenty of time on the bench.

A disappointing defeat to Roma in the Europa League quarter-finals has piled more pressure on Pioli’s shoulders, with major silverware now out of reach, and he has told reporters when asked if a departure is now inevitable: “Be patient and wait for the end of the season. At that point, the club and I will discuss it. Assessments must be made at the end of the season even if results in Europe were worse than last term. We still have the league, where we can do much better than last season.”

Milan’s next game is another big one, as they prepare to take in a derby date with old adversaries Inter, and Pioli is eager to keep collective focus locked on that fixture. He added, amid the intense speculation surrounding his future: “We must change many things in the derby. If we play as we did [against Roma], we’ll surely have no chances. I think the guys are aware of it.”

Milan remain second in the Serie A table for now, but are 14 points back on runaway leaders Inter. Champions League qualification looks to be on the cards, meaning that Pulisic and Musah will be back in elite European competition with the Rossoneri next season even if their current coach is not.
