Revealed: Andre Onana's stance on Man Utd exit transfer as struggling goalkeeper faces fight to secure his future

The Red Devils turned to Onana in the summer of 2023 when bidding farewell to David de Gea. The four-time Player of the Year at Old Trafford left as a free agent when his contract expired, meaning that a new No.1 was required.

United spent big on luring Onana away from Serie A giants Inter, but have seen costly errors blight his spell in English football. Serious questions continue to be asked of his reliability between the sticks.

Interest from the Saudi Pro League was shown two years ago, and GIVEMESPORT claim that teams in the Middle East remain keen on Onana. Clubs from that region would have no trouble matching his supposed £200,000-a-week wage packet.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano is, however, adamant that no imminent move is being sought. He says: “At the moment, it’s important to clarify that Onana wants to stay at Manchester United and compete at his best level as long as possible. It’s his desire to change the situation, help the team, continue at Old Trafford and follow his dream.

“At the same time, Man Utd's management - together with Ruben Amorim - will assess the goalkeeper situation to decide how they want to proceed with that position in the summer transfer window. So the situation could be open and it's an interesting one to follow.”

Onana is reportedly ready to “fight until the very end to change this story and continue in red”, but Financial Fair Play (FFP) concerns need to be taken into consideration as United could raise much-needed funds from any sale.
