Revealed: Man Utd could release Jadon Sancho after deciding on ruthless new contract approach ahead of Sir Jim Ratcliffe's arrival

Sky Sports News reports that Ratcliffe's INEOS group, which is set to take charge of the club's sporting operations, will emphasise the development of a more positive working culture. A more ruthless approach to finding exit routes for players who fail to fit with the club's ethos is expected to be implemented, rather than holding out to extract transfer value.

United have certainly struggled in this regard in recent years with Sancho's exile coming just months after the protracted handling of the Mason Greenwood case. According to the report, INEOS and Ratcliffe have admired how Arsenal have turned around their sporting culture by terminating the contracts of Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe in recent seasons.

Ratcliffe's INEOS have experience of running operations across a number of sports. Overseen by former Team Sky cycling director Sir David Brailsford, the group has interests in football, cycling, sailing, athletics and motorsport.

With the minority stake sale still pending, United fans are eagerly awaiting news of its approval and the hope that the club's creaking sporting structures are soon to have a much-needed overhaul.
