    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kane pointed to Mourinho's tactics at Tottenham for his lethal attacking partnership with Son. The duo played together for eight years and formed one of Premier League's greatest two-man partnerships in history, with the pair combining for 47 goals, making them the deadliest in the 31-year history of the league.

  • WHAT KANE SAID

In a chat with France Football, the England captain heaped praise on the legendary Portuguese coach, as he said: "I got on incredibly well with Heung-min Son. I also think he's one of the most underrated players in the top leagues. We've always had a very good technical relationship. But it took on another dimension when Jose Mourinho came to Spurs.

"Before the roles were more established, I was No. 9, and Sonny was on the left. We already understood each other very well in the game, but under José, we formed more of an attacking duo and there we created an almost telepathic connection with much more changing roles, one time I was upfront, another time I was dropping back to set him up."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The 31-year-old further claimed that he has already formed a similar bond with Bayern sensation Jamal Musiala as he added: "Finding such connection again? I think it's possible because I understand the game even better today so I connect even more easily. We can already see a glimpse of that at Bayern with Jamal Musiala, for example."
