    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The 21-year-old, who has a release clause of €30m (£25m/$32m) in his existing contract, has attracted interest from several other English clubs and newly crowned German champions Bayer Leverkusen. The Blues, despite their interest, are not being considered favourites at the moment to land the player this summer.

With Enzo Maresca replacing Mauricio Pochettino at the helm this season, the west London side are looking to make some changes in their ranks in order to bolster the team ahead of the 2024-25 campaign. Other than Beier, the club also placed a bid for Atletico Madrid forward Samu Omorodion, however, the Spanish side have reportedly rejected it.
