Zoo Kericho midfielder Michael Madoya is the Player of the Year for the 2017 season.
Madoya beat competition from Gor Mahia’s Meddie Kagere , Patrick Matasi of Posta Rangers, Masoud Juma of Kariobangi Sharks and Lawrence Juma of Nzoia Sugar to the Award.
It was a good evening for the diminutive player, who also bagged the midfielder of the year award in the ceremony held in Nairobi.
Mathare United veteran George ‘Wise’ Owino scooped the defender of the year Award. Owino beat Nicholas Meja of Nakumatt and Joackins Atudo of Posta Rangers to the Award.

Posta Rangers keeper Patrick Matasi was rewarded for his stellar display last season after he bagged the Golden Gloves Award. Matasi beat John Oyemba of Kariobangi Sharks and David Juma of Kakamega Homeboyz to the trophy.
William Muluya was also rewarded for his efforts with Kariobangi Sharks after he scooped the coach of the year Award. Muluya was voted the best ahead of Ugandan Sam Ssimbwa of Sofapaka and Mike Mururi of Kakamega Homeboyz.
Apart from winning the Midfielder of the Year Award, Madoya also grabbed the New Player of the year Award, beating stiff competition from Lawrence Juma of Nzoia Sugar and teammate Nicholas Kipkirui.
Gor Mahia’s Jolawi Abondo scooped the Team Manager of the Year Award after beating Evans Kadenge of Nzoia Sugar and Christopher Ouma of Ulinzi Stars while Madoya was honoured once again in the Fair Player of the Year Award, after beating Meddie Kagere of Gor Mahia and John Mwita of Chemelil Sugar.
Aden Marwa was crowned the Assistant Referee of the Year ahead of Gilbert Cheruiyot and Carolyne Kiles while Yassin Badr was named the best Centre referee of the Year, beating Anthony Juma and Davies Omweno .
Sofapaka won the Fair Play team of the Year ahead of Western Stima and Nzoia Sugar while Masoud Juma of Kariobangi Sharks scooped the Golden Boot Award after scoring 17 goals last season.
