Brighton go into the hat for tomorrow's EFL Cup fourth round draw, then host Aston Villa at the weekend. Meanwhile, Arsenal must attempt to get back to winning ways as a no-doubt more familiar XI face Wolves in their final fixture before the World Cup.

A clinical performance by Brighton sees the South Coast side through to the fourth round of the EFL Cup, as a much-changed Arsenal drop out in disappointing style. While the home side rattled off several shots in the 30 minutes either side of half-time, it was their visitors that capitalised on chances created through incisive counter-attacks - Mitoma's influence proving a turning point after the break. A day to forget for the Premier League leaders, then, but Brighton march on!

90' + 3' An outswinging corner by Cedric picks out Holding near the penalty spot, but the Arsenal defender gets under the header and sends it spiralling high over the crossbar.

90' + 1' Mitoma steals the ball and Brighton break forward, with a low throughball from Gross then almost finding Welbeck before Hein claims the ball low down at the forward's feet.

89' It's all Arsenal now, as their first-team stars start to impose themselves. However, surely it's too late for a miraculous comeback, and Brighton seem set for a place in the fourth round draw.

87' A sweeping crossfield ball by Zinchenko is effortlessly controlled by Nelson on the right, and the winger progresses to the edge of the box before lashing a shot past the post. Steele was not too concerned, though, and another half-chance is spurned by Arsenal.

84' Arsenal flood forward again, and Jesus wins a free-kick around 30 yards from goal. From the set-piece - delivered towards the penalty spot - Holding's downward header lacks power and Steele makes a simple save.

82' SAVE! Alert, Steele keeps out Martinelli's low shot from inside the area, after the Arsenal forward was picked out by his fellow Brazilian, Jesus. The goalkeeper did well to close down the space, but it was a tame effort from Martinelli, who really should've scored!

Following Brighton's equaliser, Arsenal have attempted the last six shots in the game and have had 67 per cent of possession. Can they now take that momentum into the second half and find a winner?

An open half sees both sides heading down the tunnel at the break still level, after Arsenal led for just seven minutes. A slip-up from the Gunners' debutant goalkeeper cost them the advantage and Welbeck was the man to haul Brighton level against his former club. The scoreline fairly reflects events in the game so far, and after Arteta's 10 changes, the hosts have relied heavily on the threat of Nelson and Nketiah to cover for a lack of fluency elsewhere.

After silence falls around the Emirates Stadium, to observe 'The Last Post' ahead of Remembrance Day later this week, the players take up their positions and kick-off is now just moments away.

Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi also makes sweeping changes today, as eight players drop that started the 3-2 win at Wolves are replaced. Caicedo, March and captain Dunk are retained, as South American duo Sarmiento and Enciso come in; joining ex-Arsenal striker Welbeck up front. The latter once scored 32 goals for the Gunners, but is yet to find the net this season.

Captained by Holding today, Arsenal make a total of 10 changes from the team that began Sunday's win against Chelsea. Only Saliba is retained, as third-choice goalkeeper Hein makes his club debut and Brazilian starlet Marquinhos features up front. Arteta, though, has named Odegaard, Xhaka, Jesus and Martinelli among his substitutes, so can turn to their experience if required.

After beating Wolves last weekend, Brighton are sixth in the Premier League standings after 13 matches, and they now continue their quest for a first ever League Cup. The Seagulls have already defeated League One strugglers Forest Green Rovers 3-0 to make it this far, and are aiming to secure a fourth-round appearance today - they have been knocked out at that stage in both of the past two seasons. Set to face in-form hosts today, Brighton have conceded at least twice in each of their last five away matches.

Entering at this stage of the competition due to their Europa League participation, Arsenal have endured a three-decade drought in the EFL Cup. In fact, the Gunners have only lifted the trophy twice in their history - most recently in 1993. Mikel Arteta's men made it to the semi-finals last year, but were eliminated by eventual winners Liverpool. Following Sunday's win over London rivals Chelsea, today's hosts have posted three straight wins without conceding a goal and hold a two-point lead over Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.
