From Stockport to Real Madrid! Wrexham's League One rivals see assistant coach poached by Carlo Ancelotti

Stockport County are set to lose their assistant coach Andy Mangan as the 38-year-old is set to join Carlo Ancelotti's coaching team at Real Madrid.

    WHAT HAPPENED?

    As per The Athletic, the reigning Spanish and European champions have targeted Mangan because of his closeness with Ancelotti's son, Davide. The 38-year-old has been recommended by Davide as the duo had done their coaching courses together.

    Despite having only arrived at Edgeley Park in Stockport in July, Mangan is recognised for having contributed to The Hatters' outstanding start in League One, as Dave Challinor's team have amassed 10 points from their first four games following promotion to the third division of English football.

    According to the report, Ancelotti is believed to have been searching for an English coach with English Football League (EFL) expertise. It's also known that when Davide starts his own management career, he intends to bring Mangan along.

    If all goes as planned, the 38-year-old will be on his way to the Santiago Bernabeu soon. However, he is reportedly still awaiting his work visa and no date has been established for his incorporation with Real Madrid.
