Per The Athletic, Wrexham would need to buy a large plot of land behind the main stand, but they currently house both a university car park and student accommodation. The club sold the land in 2006, and would need to buy it back, and then potentially demolish the buildings to make way for fresh stands. It remains to be seen if they would be willing to do that, and if the land would even be for sale.

Wrexham also face a significant hurdle with The Turf pub. It has become a star of the Welcome to Wrexham documentary, but it would likely also need to be demolished if an extension were to take place, while trees behind the Tech End would also need tearing down. These are thorny logistical issues for Wrexham to overcome.
