Rob McElhenney sends four-word message to Channing Tatum and Billie Joe Armstrong after superstar duo join Ryan Reynolds to watch Wrexham's clash with Cambridge
Rob McElhenney apologised to guests Channing Tatum and Billy Joe Armstrong after they watched Wrexham draw 2-2 with Cambridge on Saturday.
Hollywood superstar Tatum and Green Day legend Armstrong were flown in by the Wrexham co-owners to watch them take on Cambridge in Wales. Despite the stars in attendance, the Red Dragons could not pick up three points, drawing 2-2 and slipping behind in the League One title race. The result prompted McElhenney to tweet his guests, apologising for the result but insisting Wrexham will bounce back.

WHAT MCELHENNEY SAID
On social media platform X, McElhenney said: "Sorry for the result @channingtatum and @billiejoe But we always get up and go again. On to Saturday! Up the town!"
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Wrexham fans are used to seeing famous stars at their matches and they are even more used to winning. But the slip-up today leaves them two points adrift of leaders Wycombe and one of Birmingham, having played more games than both teams.

WHAT NEXT FOR WREXHAM?
We do not know who is on the menu when it comes to the next guests of Reynolds and McElhenney, but the Red Dragons will travel to Bristol Rovers next Saturday. A win in the early kick-off could put some pressure on the leaders above them.
