Revealed: What Wrexham have to explain to Ryan Reynolds & Rob McElhenney when completing transfers – with Phil Parkinson discussing role of Hollywood stars in deals

Famous co-owners at SToK Racecourse continue to make the funds available that allow regular forays into the recruitment market to be made. They have completed some shrewd business, with Arthur Okonkwo, Lewis Brunt and George Dobson added to the ranks on a permanent basis this summer.

The Red Dragons remain in the market for “a few” fresh faces, meaning that Reynolds and McElhenney need to write more cheques. They will be involved every step of the way when it comes to getting players through the doors, with there a desire to preserve the family feel to life in North Wales.

Wrexham boss Parkinson has told BBC Sport of how transfer business plays out: “It’s great that Ryan and Rob are owners of the club so it’s important that when someone signs they get a welcome from Rob and Ryan. They’re great at that, they’re very engaged, whenever we’ve signed a player, or when we sign a player they want to be involved in terms of us explaining why we’re signing the player and what qualities that particular player brings to the squad. Of course, yeah, they want to make them feel welcome because there’s a togetherness about us here at Wrexham and it’s something that we want to continue with.”

Reynolds and McElhenney have overseen rapid progress at Wrexham, on and off the field, with back-to-back promotions being covered by an award-winning documentary series. Parkinson’s side are now up into League One, which will present plenty of challenges in 2024-25.
