Is Mauricio Pochettino facing the sack at Chelsea? Under-pressure Blues boss insists he doesn't fear for his job amid poor run of form

Chelsea, despite showing moments of attacking flair and improvement under Pochettino, have struggled to turn dominance into victory on several occasions in 2023-24. The Blues have won just five Premier League games this season, drawing four and losing seven - a record that leaves them 12th in the league. However, Pochettino is defiant and does not believe his future in west London is in danger.

Speaking ahead of his side's clash with Sheffield United on Saturday, Pochettino said: "I am a person who trusts until the end, until someone says something else to me. Like what happened in Tottenham. I was trusting my chairman until the end.

"I am a person that always trusts and trusts until someone shows me I cannot trust any more. But I trust, I trust. Of course, I know that I need to deliver. I know football, how football is.

"My decision to sign here was because I trust when they offered me the job. I am going to keep trusting because the club is showing me that they trust in my job.

"We have good people building the house, good architects. We have the best company, architects, very creative and good - already proven."

Pochettino is under pressure to start picking up maximum points in the Premier League. Chelsea co-owner, Todd Boehly, has invested heavily in the club in his two years in charge alongside Behdad Eghbali, and backed Pochettino with £435 million ($552m) worth of recruits. Unfortunately for the ownership, they are yet to see a return on their investment amid a flurry of managerial changes.

Chelsea host a Sheffield United side that prop up the table, having won a mere eight points. Anything other than three points could well signal the beginning of the end of Pochettino's time at Stamford Bridge.
